"If I Get Locked Up Tonight". I just listened to Ehlzhi, Lupe, Fabolous, Joe Budden, Paul Cain and E. Ness. Lyricists soothe this savage beast, lol...
Sorry, being random, lets be MORE RANDON, EH!?!??!
uh,
Two words
Im nervous
Not Really
Just Scared
Hold On
Scared's worse
Lets say
Nervous, yes!
lol, sorry folks, just tryna keep ya'll updated. Big show tomorrow. Back on the old stomping (staying in my room) grounds of AAMU, my Alma Mater. I really aint nervous, Im a bit to arrogant on the mic to be nervous. Lets just say that I have....."other concerns", lol, ones that I might speak on later or never mention again.
But in the meantime, whatever my feeling is, Im gonna listen to a tad more lyrical veracity (<---big word for 3 A.M.) before I go to sleep, CHYEAH!
"I used to be a lonely man, lonely and mad/Til I made a million dollars....."

CRS? NAH! THE TRIANGE OFFENSE?! NOPE!!!!
The Re-up Gang?! Ummmmmm, maybe........yeah, The Re-up Gang*
Oh, sorry folks, thinking (typing?) out loud. Whats good, friends?! Shaz back IN THE BUILDING with a little more insight on the goinz on of the aspiring emcee which is me.
Soooooooo, me and the crew, the might (Mighty Mighty) DSA, went to Club Focus last night to knock the performance rust off of us, get back accustomed to being behind the mic. Now, our plan was to perform one of the songs that we're performing this weekend at the Black Arts Festival. The song we wanted to perform was "Captainilism Works", one of our definite bangers. So the entire week leading up to last night, we're thinking thats the song we're gonna rock............WRONG! WRONG!!!!!
After we did all the rehearsing and remembering our lines, checking ad-libs and whatnot, we couldnt even do the song. Not because they wouldnt let us (Cause the host, Joi Tiffany, was very accomidating, but BECAUSE WE COULD'NT GET THE BEAT BURNED ON TO A C.D.!!!!!!
Tried it on my comp, NOTHING!
Tried it on Black Natives computer, NADDA!!!!!!
Me and Laz (The Native) are spazzing out (who still says that word?) cause our plans are ruined and we dont know what to do. On the 25th hour (which is 8:45 for us, cause we tryna get in free), Frank Yeiger makes an executive decision at says that we need to leave without the beat and just go to the club and perform some poetry instead. Seeing this as our final viable option, we proceeded to the club, thinking of what we might spit once we got there.....
This blog is long as HECK, Imma have to give ya'll a mp3 at the end of it.........
So we get to the club at 8:59 (free! yessssssss!) and are some of the first ones to get there. Before I tell you how bad (bad meaning good) we murked it, I gotta tell about the hostess, the previously mentioned Joi Tiffany. THE CHICK CAN SANG!!!!!! Oh my God, she was going through classics effortlessly, plus she kept the crowd engaged with her, ummmmmmmm, antics? I highly suggest ya'll spend a Sunday evening at Club Focus whenever you get the chance, you'll be pleased...........
Aight, back to how super-great me and THE DSA are. WE KILLED THAT JOINT!!!! We spent the first half-hour getting our nerve up and freestyling to the band (who also killed it) and just having fun. Once the open mic started, we all got into serious mode, mumbling our rhymes to ourselves, working on hand gestures and whatnot. Frank signed all up one-after-the-other, so the crowd really got the complete DSA experience.
I went up first and did a verse off of "Greatest Love" the joint me and L.C. did off of THE SAINT VALENTINES DAY MIXTAPE 2. I did pretty good, I think, thanks alot in part to the lovely ladies of a sorority that I dont wanna mispronounce, so I'll come back to it later, lol. Frank Yeiger came right behind me and killed em' with "Sunshine", a joint off of his Captainilism Works mixtape. He set up the scene perfectly, so that he wouldnt be just spittin random stuff that they wouldnt understand. He had em begging for more, he prolly coulda went in for two verses. The Black Native sent us outta their with a BANG when he did two verses from "Converse Tonight" which is actually the first song the DSA officially ever did together! He ran through his verses with ease and even brought a smile to the hostess' face with his "breasts like boulders" lone, hahaha.
All-in-all, I say we did great. We got our feet re-wetted (making up words) for being on the mic and had some fun in the process. The CRAZIEST part of the whole thing is that while we were trying our darndest to perform "Captainilism Works", I dont think the song wouldve went over as well as the things that we did perform, its crazy how things work out, eh? "Gods holding the cards, and he dont even gamble......"
PEEEEEEEEEACE!
Oh yeah, the "*" from up top denotes who I think the DSA's lyrical competition is, as far as trio's are concerned, But, wait ________________________, so that means ______________! CHYEAH!

RECORDIN' AT 4:00 IN THE MORNIN'?!?!!!?!?
Actually, its 4:57, lets round up and say I was recording at 5 a.m., lol. I'm not an insomniac, I just think that sleep and other forms of sustenance are for weaklings and I, the En Sabah Nur of rap (new alias, just made it! just now!) have ZERO weakness!
As you can see, sleep deprivation has me rambling ridiculously (but still cognizant enough to use words like "deprivation", and "cognizant" for that matter). Annnnnnnnnnyway, Im feeling pretty good right now, I got two songs done today/tonight, so maybe my plans will come together after all.
Im tryna get the 2nd chapter of this mixtape out, which will be interesting because the release is strictly dependent on my partners in rhyme delivering their verses to me on time.........it'll be interesting........
Anyway, Imma play, errr, "network" on myspace a lil more, then Im going to sleep, I'll holla.
p.s. more mp3's of exclusives on the way, CHYEAH!

Key word: LAST YEARS.
Who the heck am I to think I can drop one 10-song mixtape a year and stay competitive in this game? ITS MADNESS! ITS SILLY and in the words of Della Reese, "I dont like alot of silly stuff"<---censored. So yeah, with that in mind, I have a SLEW (like, a literal slew) of mixtapes coming to ya'll as my album near completion (more on that later). So yeah, Ya'll on the lookout for: 1. THE REALER TEN: PART 2, DEAD CELL 2. BLOOD BROTHERS 3. AVENGERS ASSEMBLE! 4. H.I.G.H.E.R. L.E.A.R.N.I.N.G. 5. DSA/80IES BABIES 6. THE REALEST TEN: BIRMINGHAMS SAVAGE yeah, man, Im goin in. So until next time, hopefully not three months from now, peaceeeeeeee1 Oh yeah, since ya'll stuck with me on my hiatus, here's a little something for you. The first single off of my H.I.G.H.E.R. L.E.A.R.N.I.N.G. M.I.X.T.A.P.E., "Girl You Know", classic Shaz girly-song.

Remember That Part On "Ether", When Nas Said......
"Eminem murdered you on ya own s*$!"? Remember that? Thats how I been feeling nowadays. Whats up, people? Shaz back in the buildin and since Im WAAAAAAAAY overdue with The Saint Valentines Day Mixtape, I guess I'll shoot the breeze about other topics on my mind.
I been doing a pretty decent amount of collaborations with other emcees lately and Im starting to see a pattern on the songs, THESE CATS IS MURKIN ME!!!!!! Now, keep in mind, I only rock with the best, Ive never been on a track with a emcee who wasnt AT LEAST my equal, so a pretty good lyrical sparring match is to be expected, but...............
-Charity
-L.C.
-Frank Yeiger
-Mike Seay
-Dre Seay
-The Warrior
Have all jumped on tracks with me and showed me up. I should be happy, cause this means that all the songs are gonna be classic (especially this one with Charity, Oh My God........or Allah Akbar:), but it still makes me wonderrrrrrrrrrrrr:
am I losing it?
Since Im getting older does that mean I have to work harder at it?
Have I reached my lyrical "glass ceiling"?
who knows? Just venting anyways, laterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr............
